Our commitment

Sterling Locksmiths wants every visitor to be able to use this website, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification or other assistive technology.

The standard we aim for

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.1, level AA. In practice, we build toward:

• Text alternatives for meaningful images
• Full keyboard access, with a visible focus indicator
• Text and background colors with readable contrast
• Clear headings and a logical page structure
• Form fields with labels, and error messages that say what to fix
• Text that can be resized without breaking the layout

This site has not been formally audited by an outside accessibility firm.

Known limitations

• The lock picking demonstration is a visual illustration. The same steps are written out in text beside it, and each pin can be set from the keyboard.
• The service area map is an interactive map. Every town on it is also listed as a text button beside the map.
• The before and after comparison is controlled by a slider that works with the arrow keys.
